Nicaragua at a glance…
I know this is where i am supose to be. I am loving Nicaragua more than i ever thought i would. I was not expecting to have such a nice place to call home. My team has been incredably blessed with what we do have here! We have been here a almost three weeks already which blows my mind. time is flying by!
Okay! So i am staying in a place they call "the project". We have a nice kitchen and two amazing women who cook for us! (Antonia and Estella) i love them so much even though most of the time i have no idea what they are saying! Chicken, Rice and beans seems to be a common occurance…like everymeal, but im not complaining!
Its a good thing God has belssed me with an amazing group of girls to be on my squad because we all have to live in rather tight quarters. All 20 of us girls sleep in a rather small room but we all have our own bed which is nice! I was sleeping on the bottom bunk until an unknown animal came through our room late one night…so now i moved to the top bunk!Im not a big fan of the animals or insects here… Also we have had numerous scorpians show up at random times like during my shower!! not a big fan.
Every afternoon we have been going into a nearby Village named Bethel. It is awesome to start building relationships with the people we are going to be in community with for the next 3 months! I absolutly love these people and there are so many adorable kids! Because going to Bethel can get repetative my team and i have been trying to be intentional with our time and try to be creative. A couple of us girls put an english class together for the kids which was fun but also very chaotic.
I am really excited about an all womens bible study that my team is starting for the young women of Bethel. This will be a great oportunity to build up strong women of the community! This is going to be every friday night followed by a movie night that we are holding herein the project! Fridays are my new favorite days 🙂
I think i am finally feeling at home here. It started out rough due to the pastor at our church passing away on stage during service. This shocking event definietly devastating to everyone but i am so proud of my team for staying strong for the comunity!Because of the darkness in Belthel i am so happy that we are able to be here for the people and to bring Gods hope and love into the darkness.
I can not wait to see what God has in store for our team in the next couple of weeks! i will keep you posted! Thank you for your prayers!
I am so proud of you and your team!! God bless you all!!
