My squad and i spent a week in Leon which is a city about an hour from where we had been living in chinadega. i was super excited for this week because after 2 months at the project i was ready for a change of pace. Leon is a beautiful city that use to be the capital of Nicaragua...its many old cathedrals make the city unique. There is always so much going on here and the beach near by makes for a awesome day!

Because of all the freedom we had my team decided to be very intentional with our time and tryed to do as much ministy as possible. We prayed for people, left notes wih scripture on it all around the city for people to find, passed out flowers to people on the streets and told them jesus loved them, got involved with a church that is trying to expand, told our taxi drivers that we are all missionaries and in love with jesus and built a relationship with a lonley older lady. These are just a few of the things that happened this past week and i am so excited about it. i truley think leon is changed for the better becuase of our dilegence to the lord.

my team met this lady who told us that we have to go to church with her and sing for the congregation..and ofcourse we are so excited! (something i have learned as a missionary is that you will be asked to sing everywhere and anywhere you are...) Thankfully all the girls on my team love to sing! This church has service on sunday, tuesday and thursday.

We ended up going to both sunday and tuesday. Tuesday night the service was at some ladys house so the pastor met us by our hostel and walked us to the house where church was being held. It was a rather long walk...in the pooring down rain...i thought it might actually be a monsoon... just imagine 6 gringas walking the streets of Nicaragua in nice skirts in the pooring rain being led by a man on a bicicle..i legit thought it was so funny. we ended up walking for like 45 minutes before we finally got to this ladys house!

this church serive consisted of 7 women and one elderly man and of course the 6 of us girls. it was a typical church service with loud music, off beat clapping and plus all of us are dripping wet. at the end of the service we asked if we could pray over the old mad who had a bad arm..so we did and then the pastor asked us to pray for a elderly woman who has cancer. As we began to pray for her she fell over and started to shake. We continued to pray for several minutes and when she calmed down we stoped praying. she was so thankful for us and for the prayers we had just said... My team and i beleive that God healed her that night. God is so good.

This was a awesome week for my squad and I. I really loved the misitry we got to do! if you could be in prayer for this church, They are trying to start a large kids ministry with kids from villages all around leon and also build a church so they have a place to meet other than just in peoples homes. As of now they have about 60 kids and 30 adults attending the programs. muchly apprecitated!
